NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – Tennessee secured its eighth straight series win after Game 2 against Vanderbilt, but the Commodores prevented the Vols from completing the sweep.

In fact, Vanderbilt stopped Tennessee from scoring.

The Commodores found early success with a home run by Espinal that brought in Austin, giving Vanderbilt a 2-0 lead coming out of the bottom of the first.

Turning to the second inning, the Commodores’ Vastine put Kozeal home with a single to right field, and Vanderbilt then took a 3-0 lead.

Zander Sechrist was on the mound for all three runs, pitching the entire first and second innings.

Nate Snead came in for the third and pitched 4.1 innings before Andrew Behkne got a third of the frame and Kirby Connell wrapped up the day in the ninth.

Snead, Behkne and Connell did not allow any runs.
