Tennessee homicide suspect taken to hospital

NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio (WJW) – A wanted man is dead after a police-involved shooting in North Ridgeville on Wednesday.

Law enforcement sources tell the FOX 8 I-Team that the shooting involved a man wanted on a homicide warrant in Tennessee.


According to a news release, the situation developed around 7 p.m. when officers responded to the area of ​​James Road and found the suspect in the front yard of a residence.

Upon confronting the suspect, an officer-involved shooting ensued, authorities said. No specific details were immediately provided.

The suspect was taken to a hospital. On Thursday morning, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that the suspect, identified as 41-year-old Jason Norris, had died.

The officers were not injured.

Steve Irwin, press secretary for Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost’s Office, told the I-Team that the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s Crime Scene Unit and Special Investigations Unit responded to the scene.
