Tustin Nonprofit Celebrates Mothers, Families in Need – NBC Los Angeles

Operation Warm Wishes was hard at work Sunday morning celebrating mothers and families in need with a tea party, breakfast and clothing giveaway.

“We want to be their family today, let them know that we love them and will take care of them,” said Tyron Jackson, founder and president of Operation Warm Wishes.

The nonprofit organized a celebration breakfast for mothers and families struggling to make ends meet.

“We want to give them something special. We let them know that we all fall, what matters is getting up. We heard that and we’re here to deliver,” Jackson said.

On Sunday morning, the Tustin Library courtyard was transformed into a tea party for more than two people.

“We saw you on the news and it was amazing and we told a couple of our friends about it. We came here and we got wonderful food, a lot of clothes for the family, for the kids, not just for a mom, so it’s really amazing,” said Kathryn Holman, a mom who moved from Texas.

An entire community came together to serve fruits and cakes and pamper a group of women who needed a little extra attention and compassion.

Kathryn Holman and her husband…recently moved from Dallas looking for a clean start. And she’s already on her way to six months of sobriety.

It was a bittersweet moment with her children so far away.

“I would tell them that I love them and that I miss them very much and that I am here to get better. Mom will be home soon,” Holman said.
