Waterloo man charged with driving under the influence after going through roundabout

A Waterloo driver has been charged after Waterloo Regional Police responded to reports of a drunk driver.

Reports came in from the area of ​​Conservation Drive and Erbsville Road on Tuesday around 10:45 p.m.

Officers were able to find the suspect vehicle near Ira Needles Boulevard and Erb Street West.

They said they saw the driver go through a roundabout and hit several traffic signs.

When officers tried to stop the driver, he sped away.

Officers found the vehicle a short time later in a parking lot on King Street North and the driver was arrested.

A 23-year-old Waterloo man has been charged with operating while intoxicated (alcohol and drugs), operating while intoxicated (blood alcohol concentration), dangerous operation, fleeing a peace officer and failing to stop after an accident.
