Three children and woman die in crash in Wise County, authorities say

Three children and a woman were killed in a crash in Wise County Tuesday morning, authorities said.

An initial investigation found that a Mack truck pulling a tanker trailer was traveling east on FM 1810, near County Road 1340, and a Chevrolet Equinox was traveling west shortly after 5:30 a.m., according to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety. The driver of the Equinox crossed into a no-passing zone and collided head-on with the Mack truck, Texas DPS officials said.

The driver of the Equinox crossed into a no-passing zone and collided head-on with the Mack truck, Texas DPS officials said.

The Equinox caught fire and all occupants inside died at the scene. The state agency said the driver was Brandy Nicole Price, 32, and the passengers were three children, ages 10, 7 and 3.

The driver of the Mack truck was taken to a local hospital with injuries that officials believed were not life-threatening. Authorities said the investigation into the collision is ongoing and no additional information was immediately available.
