Several teenagers arrested for having weapons in Boston Park

BOSTON, MA — On Monday morning, Boston Police officers from District B-2 arrested three people, including two juveniles, on firearms and drug charges. The arrests occurred at a park located at 30 Mt Pleasant Avenue after officers were alerted to the discovery of a firearm.

Jamuan Terrell Coakley-Thomason, 22, of Charlestown, along with a 14-year-old boy and a 13-year-old man, were taken into custody after a brief foot chase. A black Glock 34 with a 10-round magazine, capable of holding up to 30 bullets, was discovered in the 13-year-old’s backpack. Additionally, crack cocaine was found at Coakley-Thomason during the booking process.

Charges against the 13-year-old include unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition and a large-capacity feeding device. The 14-year-old was charged with criminal trespass and Coakley-Thomason faces charges of possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute. Coakley-Thomason is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court and the juveniles will face charges in Boston Juvenile Court.
