Ready for summer weather? This week, temperatures in Massachusetts could reach 90 degrees

BOSTON – Are you ready for summer? Come on! We’re about to get all of these summer feels in the coming days in Massachusetts.

Average high temperatures this time of year are around 60 degrees. From Tuesday to Thursday we will exceed it by 20 degrees or more!

Monday is a day of transition. Clouds will slowly erode, especially near the coast. Inland, high temperatures will climb into the 70s, while along the coast most areas will remain in the 60s.

How hot is it in Boston?

TUESDAY: After some low clouds and fog in the morning, we will soon emerge into widespread sunshine!

Temperatures will be warmer north and west of Boston (this will be a constant theme over the next few days), which is typical for a southwesterly wind this time of year.

Most of the Merrimack Valley and cities along and north of the Mass Pike will reach temperatures between 84 and 88 degrees!

The further south you live, the lower the temperatures, the more influence the ocean has.

WEDNESDAY: A beach day! Lots of sunshine and temperatures reaching almost 90 degrees north and west of Boston.

The same goes for the south…temperatures are a little cooler, especially towards the Cape and Islands, especially in the 60s with the cool sea breezes.

Rain on Thursday?

THURSDAY: Another very warm day, but a cold front will move through New England in the afternoon and evening. How hot will we get? It depends on the moment of that front. A pass later in the day would mean another 90 degree shot in some areas…this is what we are currently leaning towards.

Either way, there will likely be some afternoon showers and thunderstorms, which is really the only risk for wet weather this week.

Get an early look at the Memorial Day weekend forecast

We are cautiously optimistic that most of the next Holiday weekend stay dry and comfortable.

Right now, Friday/Saturday seems to be the peak with highs in the 70s.

Later in the weekend, temperatures may cool slightly thanks to onshore winds.

Clouds may also thicken by Memorial Day. More on this prediction in the coming days.
